some desserts i made recently:
Miette’s hot milk cake, a few weeks ago.

recipe here. i made mine in a bundt cake pan, and 180C = 350F for the oven.
i ate it as is, no icing, with some sliced strawberries & milk (i didn’t have any cream). very delicious, great texture (outside slightly crunchy, inside very tender), well worth the extra step(s)!
Miette’s buttermilk panna cotta
recipe here. i made a half-recipe, and poured it in some heart-shaped molds i have.
to eat with it, i made a rhubarb « jam » with 1 cup sliced rhubarb and about 1/3cup brown sugar. i thought the tanginess of the rhubarb would mix well with the buttermilk’s.
it’s my first panna cotta, i’m excited! i hope it turns out well.
i’m also re-making the ice cream bible’s oatmeal ice cream (a half-recipe), which i had tried 1-2 years ago (and loved!). the ingredients listed here are almost like the recipe in the book, the 2 differences are: 1cup milk + 1cup 10% cream (instead of 2cups milk), and adding 1/2cup of maple syrup at the end.
